A computer virus is a type of malicious software program (called malware) that, when executed, replicates itself by modifying other computer programs and inserting its own code. When this replication succeeds, the affected areas are then said to be “infected” with a virus.

Viruses generally affect systems negatively or can slow down or destroy your computer’s data. Computer viruses can infect computers without user’s knowledge.

Computer viruses are bad programs which gives harm to your computer. Hackers use social engineering deceptions and exploit detailed knowledge of security vulnerabilities to initially infect systems and to spread the virus.

Types of Computer Viruses

Below are the different types of computer viruses.
